FAA Exemption 10159

As reported in 2007, 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2021 the FAA grants to the IAC "Exemption No. 10159. That exemption from §§ 91.151(a)(1) and 91.9(b) of Title 14, Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) allows IAC members to carry less than the visual flight rules (VFR) fuel requirements under certain conditions and be exempted from carrying the aircraft flight manual during aerobatic competition and aerobatic practice flights." The FAA Letter (click here to view) dated March 29, 2018 grants a three year extension of the exemption to June 30, 2021.
