The 2014 Greg Koontz Airshows Aerobatic Instructor Scholarship in memory of Bobby Younkin was presented Friday evening of AirVenture at the IAC annual dinner. Greg Koontz himself was on hand to present the scholarship. This year’s recipient is Micah Reynolds of New Market, TN, who made the trip to receive the scholarship in person.
Micah manages an auto body shop that he inherited with the passing of his father. He works hard to keep the family business intact and to support his wife and their two children, but has had ambitions all his life to be involved in aerobatics. Micah does some instruction on weekends and is a partial owner of an early Super Decathlon which he supports with his extra flight instruction work. Micah will be using the Aerobatic Instructor Scholarship to expand his business opportunities in the Super Decathlon which he feels will be his avenue to pursue his dreams of being an aerobatic professional.
