We are in the final phases of preparing for EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh and IAC will have an even more improved Pavilion this year featuring our “Grass Roots to the Top of the World” exhibit as well as a full schedule of forums.
We are celebrating ALL types of aerobatic aircraft and invite you come visit the exhibition in the Pavilion. If you are interested in participating and parking in the IAC area, please pre-register HERE. It is important for you to pre-register so we can use that information in our planning for parking of aircraft. Some will also be selected for special parking places if they complement our AirVenture theme this year, as we did with the Pitts Specials last year.
The exhibit planned will highlight the accomplishments of 15 great pilots' progression from grass roots to the top of the world. The highlighted aerobatic greats include Harold Krier, Leo Loudenslager and Mary Gaffaney to name a few. A panel celebrating the 70th anniversary of the De Havilland Chipmunk will be featured as well.
The new display banner pictured right depicts Frank Price’s Great Lakes (1960) and Rob Holland’s MXS-RH (today).
IAC began in 1970 with the goal of promoting grassroots aerobatics. That is, to bring aerobatics to the local and regional areas through chapters and regional competitions. It has also provided guidance to those who wish to learn aerobatics to improve their pilot skills and to gain the self-confidence and ability to control their aircraft in all flight regimes. IAC has promoted various safety and awards programs, sponsors the U.S. National Aerobatic Championships every year, and administers the U.S. Aerobatic Teams in both power and glider.
The exhibit, which will be shown at the IAC Pavilion, will feature all of these aspects of aerobatics -- from learning to fly aerobatics, becoming involved locally in chapters, and all the way up to U.S. involvement in world competition -- by telling the story of 15 aerobatic champions who worked their way up from the grass roots to the highest levels of competition and airshow flying. Join us!
AirVenture will take place in Oshkosh on July 25 through 31, 2016 and the IAC Pavilion will be open daily.
