The award was conceived and donated by L. Paul Soucy of Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Soucy was one of the first members of IAC and the Board of Directors. His purpose was to recognize not only skilled pilots but also those who supported a minimum number of contests as well as the U.S. National Aerobatic Championships.

Read moreOf interest to some of you is a 2017 change to Rule 2.1, Competitor Qualifications. The new rule recognizes the BasicMed medical certification being put into use by the FAA later this year. Anyone qualifying under the BasicMed regulations will be able to compete without a current FAA Medical Certificate regardless of the airplane flown. The 2017 rule book with this and many other changes will be online not later than mid-February.

Read moreThe final scores are in for the 2016 regional series competition. Sixty-six (66) pilots successfully competed at three or more contests needed to qualify for the series and place in the top three in their category for their respective region.

Read moreThe 2017 IAC Judges Revalidation and Currency Exam is now available on the Programs->Judges->Exams web page. Passing the R&C Exam is required for Judge currency for 2017. The passing score is 80%. The exam is open book and is best done with a copy of the IAC Official Contest Rules and the IAC web site at hand. An IAC chapter might make exam prep the topic of a chapter meeting.
