The Advanced Aerobatic Team made it to Poland safely. Since their arrival yesterday they have checked in and registered for WAAC and had their familarization flights.

Today, August 5, was the start of the event. Unfortunately a common complaint in just about every World Championship - the weather. At the scheduled time the judges were setup and ready to go this morning at 10:00am, but the winds were out of limits. When they do get flying tomorrow, results can be found here:

The U.S. Advanced Team has been polishing up their flying in preparation for WAAC, which begins with arrival and registration on this Thursday, August 4 in Radom, Poland. Competition flights begin on Friday, August 5, along with the Opening Ceremonies. 

Coach, Nikolai Timofeev has been putting them through their paces in Hosin, Czech Republic. Some team members arrived with their planes as early as July 17. All of the planes are assembled and functioning well. Practices have been sporadic, with weather interruptions and various logistics matters…

On Thursday, July 28, the IAC was notified by FAA in Washington of the publication of FAA policy N 8900.372 which extends a long-term Aerobatic Practice Area (LT APA) from 24 months to 36 months. This is very good news and is the result of the work of our Government Relations Committee and in particular Bill Finagin and Wayne Roberts. Sue Gardner, FAA’s national airshow coordinator, provided the document to to the IAC on Thursday.

IAC Gathering of Members takes pace tonight at the EAA Nature Center, 6:00-8:00pm. New this year, during the gathering the 2015 Annual Non-Flying Award Recipients will be presented with plaques for the Kathy Jaffe Award, Frank Price Cup, Harold Neumann Trophy, Robert L. Heuer Award and the Curtis Pitts Memorial.
