EAA and IAC are continuing their work on the complex issues surrounding waivered aerobatic training and competition areas with FAA officials. During a meeting last week, discussion centered on two areas: Policy surrounding application for the issuance and approval of waivered aerobatic practice areas and contest boxes (known as Chapter 48 of the FAA Inspector’s Handbook), and the Environmental Information Document (EID), which will figure prominently in those applications. Read moreThe online version of the 2007 IAC Judge Revalidation and Currency (R&C) Exam is now available from the Members Only area of the IAC Web Site in the "JUDGES" section. The online exam system will provide an immediate grade report to both the examinee and the IAC Judge Program Chair. Regional and National Judge Exams for those wishing to become a Regional Judge or upgrade to National Judge certification will available shortly using this same link. The 2007 Contest Rule Book is required for this exam.

The 2007 IAC Official Contest Rule Book is now available for downloading from the Members Only section of the IAC Web Site in the "Contest Information" section. The changes run from the minor, but helpful, reformatted page numbers; to changes to Free Program requirements for gliders, Advanced, and Unlimited power; to fairly extensive rewrites to clarify sections which previously had been identified as problem areas.
The final results are in for the 2006 Collegiate Program competition. Twenty-four students participated with 11 entrants successfully competed at the 3 or more contests needed to qualify for the program. The Collegiate National Championship Team Award goes to Southern Illinois University, followed by Embry Riddle Daytona and the U.S. Air Force Academy.
